21^st  February

21^st  February is a red letter day in our history. It is observe as the shaheed  day or mother language day. Throughout the year of 1952the students and general people of the then east Pakistan protested against the adamant declaration to the Pakistani leaders that Urdu shall be the only state language of Pakistan. The students of  Dhaka university was against the declaration. They protest for 21^st February. Than the police fire on the procession. Some of  brilliant students were killed by them. They are first martyrs in the world for the cause of language. this blood shedding is the historical 21^st February. Since the day is observed as shaheed dibash. Through their sacrifices we achieved our mother tongue. In 1998 the  UNESCO declared 21^st February as a international mother language day.
